St James' Fair 2014: 6th and 7th September
Christmas Lights Switch On 2014: 29th November
Kelso Community Events organises and operates Kelso's annual St James' Fair on the first weekend of September and the Christmas lights Switch-On each November, in the Town Square. Programmes are available throughout Kelso for each event - we look forward to seeing you this year.
St James' Fair is a community event bringing together the people of Kelso and visitors from near and far for a weekend of free entertainment, historical re-enactment, competitions and market stalls selling local and continental wares and produce.
The original Fair dates back to medieval times and today we celebrate Kelso's heritage. The Fair is supported by many local clubs, societies, affiliations and businesses who come together to create a fantastic family weekend.
Since the Fair recommenced in 2004, annual themes of the Fair have included sports, angling, embroidery, local history and local heroes.
We aim to bring you the best of Borders talent and offer an opportunity for individuals and local groups to showcase their dance, song and musical talent.
The Christmas Lights Switch-On takes place each November*, to mark the Switch-on of Kelso's Christmas Lights, creating an enchanting and entertaining evening for children of all ages.
There are competitions, a small fun fair, and an eagerly anticipated visit to Santa's Magical Grotto and entertainment by young dancers and singers from local clubs and schools.
